Jihad
I’ve been doing a lot of reading on Jihad. Western Leftists and other bleeding hearts who embrace multi-culturalism as a religion, claim that jihad is merely a Muslim’s attempt at to achieve individual perfection, and would have us also believe that jihad arises from political grievances and economic deprivation.
The truth of the matter is that jihad is not a response to colonial oppression, nor is it a battle by the poor and disenfranchised against the wealthy. Jihadist, as the Leftist would have us believe are not victims. Jihad is firmly based in the Islamic theological imperative which teaches that it is the religious duty of Muslims is to establish a global Islamic state ruled by Islamic law, or sharia. In The Clash of Civilizations, Samuel Huntington observes that: “Where ever one looks along the perimeter of Islam, Muslims have problems living peacefully with their neighbors. Muslims make up one-fifth of the world’s population, and in the 1990s they have been far more involved in inter group violence than people of any other civilization.. Islam’s borders are bloody, and so are its innards.” To advance their goal, Jihadists use the democratic freedoms of Europe and the U.S. by agitating for special rights as an aggrieved minority. Their first request in the jihad process is that the host nation recognize sharia law. “The sharia (Islamic law) does not have to adapt to the modern world because these are divine laws. People have to bend to the sharia” This was declared by an Imam in Holland and reported by Oussama Cherribi in “Imanms and Issues” 2/2/2001. Also reported by the National Catholic Reporter, 10/22/1999 was the statement: “Thanks to your democratic laws, we will invade you. Thanks to our religious laws, we will dominate you.” Jihadists use democratic principals to subvert democracy, yet the Left continues to view them only as the downtrodden underdogs. Jihad is a radical, expansionist, totalitarian ideology that seeks to subjugate unbelievers and dominate the world in the name of Islam. Its ultimate objective is to restore the caliphate which is the unified Islamic state governed by a caliph who leads the Muslim community as successor to Muhammad. This is key because only the caliph is authorized to wage war against non-Muslim states to bring them under the rule of Islamic law. Jihad is the “war against non-Muslims” and “the caliph makes war upon Jews and Christians ...until they become Muslims or pay the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya). This concept comes from “A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law,”translated 1999. Muhammad himself established three choices for non-Muslims facing jihad: conversion to Islam, submission to Islamic rule as second class citizens called “dhimmis” which means your guilty, you pay the poll tax, or die. The People of the Book, Jews and Christians, to the mind of the Islamist, have not only rejected Muhammad as a prophet, but have distorted the legitimate revelations they should have received from Allah by continuing to follow their own Bible. While Christians and Jews may be allowed to practice their religions, they must do so under severely restrictive traditions that remind them of their second class status. The multi-culturalists of the extreme Left would have us believe that all ideas are valid and one is no better than the other. To them, judging some idea or behavior as better or worse than another’s is a cardinal sin. “Judge not lest ye be judged” seems to be their mantra. Such thinking allows Jihadists to portray themselves as victims. The multi-culturalists and the Left will sacrifice Western Civilization on the alter of “accepting the equality of diversity” in all its aspects.. The following quotes make the case. “It is ironic that the Muslim world continues to be the largest producer and distributor of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a forgery that claims the Jews want to achieve world domination, when world domination is their actual objective.” “The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world” said Ahmadinejad of Iran. “...one of the primary responsibilities of the Muslim ruler is to spread Islam throughout the world...If a country doesn’t allow the propagation of Islam to its inhabitants in a suitable manner or creates hindrances to them, then the Muslim ruler would be justifying in waging Jihad against this country...” said by South African Mufti Ebrahim Desai. “Islam is a revolutionary ideology and program which seeks to alter the social order of the whole world and rebuild it in conformity with its own tenets and ideals...Islam wishes to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam regardless of the country or the Nation which rules it...” said by Syed Abul Ala Maududi, “Jihad in Islam 4/13/1939 The fact that jihad is justified by the Koran’s repeated exhortations for the faithful to do battle with the infidels renders negotiation with jihadis utterly useless. Jihadis are fundamentalists which means that they believe that every word in the Koran is the inviolate word of Allah. Not to act as Allah had demanded is to transgress. For this reason alone, negotiations with Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hisbollah, and Fatah are useless. End of rant. |
The PLO
The Palestine Liberation Organization, the PLO, was not a grass roots movement created by Palestinian Arabs, but the brainchild of Russia’s KGB and Egypt’s Nasser in 1964. It was conceived at a time when the KGB was creating “liberation front” organizations throughout the Third World as proxy armies against the West. Such armies could make tactical strikes against Western interests, and then disappear giving Russia plausible deniability for the mayhem they created. Others created around the same time by the KGB included the National Liberation Army of Bolivia with help from Che Guevara, and the National Liberation Army of Colombia with help from Fidel Castro.
The Soviets picked 422 Arab Palestinian representatives and created the Palestinian National Charter that was drafted in Moscow. Romanian intelligence was given the responsibility for providing the PLO with logistical support, arms were supplied by the KGB and the East German Stasi. After Arab humiliation in the Six-Day War, the Arab nations, refusing to recognize Israel in an exchange for land and peace, decided at the Khartoum conference in 1967 to use the PLO in what was to be called a “low intensity conflict” because the Arabs realized that conventional warfare would not work. It’s still happening. Through the PLO, the Soviets supported, funded, and trained neo-Nazi and extreme right-wing groups. The Soviets also built Moscow’s Patrice Lumumba People’s Friendship University to serve as a base of indoctrination and training of potential “freedom fighters” from the Third World. Mahmoud Abbas, the current leader of the PLO was a graduate of this university and part of this Ph.D. thesis dealt with Holocaust denial. And he is considered the moderate and a “partner for peace.” Abbas is also the leader of Fatah, the largest party in the Palestinian Authority. Fatah means “Conquest.” The Fatah Constitution was adopted in 1965, and remains in effect. You decided if Abbas can be a partner for peace considering the organization he heads. • Article 22: “Opposing any political solution and offered as an alternative to demolishing the Zionist occupation in Palestine, as well as any project intended to liquidate the Palestinian cause or impose any international mandate on its people.” • Article 12: “eradication of Zionist economic, political, military, and cultural existence.” • Article 19: “Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic,...this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated.” • Article 17: “Armed public revolution is the inevitable method to liberating Palestine.” • Article 23: “Maintaining relations with Arab countries... with the provision that the armed struggle is not negatively affected.” • Article 8: “The Israeli existence in Palestine is a Zionist invasion with a colonial expansive base, and it is a naturally to colonialism and international imperialism.” • Article 7: “The Zionist Movement is racial, colonial, and aggressive in its idiology, goals, organization, and method.” • Article 24: Making common cause with other terrorist groups. • Article 4: “The Palestinian struggle is part and parcel of the world-wide struggle against Zionism, colonialism, and international imperialism. ” • Article 25: “Convincing concerned countries in the world to prevent Jewish immigration to Palestine as a method of solving the problem.” It is noted that the original constitution has been removed from some Fatah internet sites to obscure the goals of the organization, but it is still on the archived Fatah site. Arlen Spector penned a congressional resolution (H.Res.758), urging the Palestinian Authority and President Abbas to repeal this Constitution. Don’t know if it passed or not. In case you forgot, Putin was part of the KGB and inherited its philosophy. Like most politicians, his sole focus is remaining in power and imposing his will. He is intent on bringing Russia back to its “glory days”and will do everything in his power to do that. That is one of the reasons Russia will not support sanctions on Iran and will continue to support the Iranian nuclear program. What the US doesn’t want, Russia will support. Russia has never been a friend and never will be a friend. And Bush looked into Putin’s soul! Ha! |
Efforts Towards Peace in the Middle East
As the United States continues to move forward in its effort to establish peace in the Middle East and meet with the representative of both Israel and the Arab Palestinians, we need to review the history of this effort. As one reviews the efforts of Israel to make peace, and the Arab response, one must conclude as I have concluded that the only thing that will satisfy the Arabs is the destruction of the Jewish state. Hamas wants to destroy Israel now, while Fatah is willing to wait.
Abbas was Arafat’s second in command for all the years Arafat dictated terror, and though Abbas wears a suit, he, like his predecessor will not want Arab history to remember him as the man who capitulated to Israel and made peace. He will find some reason not to accept a two state solution, and there will be a Third Intafada to which Israel will respond to protect herself and she will be routinely condemned by the world. You know this as well as I. Israel is dealing with an implacable enemy, as we are dealing with an implacable enemy in Iran and Afghanistan, and while it may be expedient to put the pressure on Israel so we can gain favor with the Arab nations and the extreme Left in America, such pressure is not just. And when our efforts all fall apart because Hamas and Fatah will never recognize the right of Israel to exist nor will they change their charter calling for Israel’s total destruction, the State Department will also be amazed at how the were duped into believing that Abbas was really sincere in wanting peace. When that happened under the Clinton Presidency, Clinton recognized who was at fault and laid the blame at Arafat’s feet. Will our president have the courage to do the same when Abbas backs off? Here is a History Lesson Review Regarding Israel’s Efforts to Exchange Land for Peace First attempt: The Rhodes armistice conference of February 1949 where Israel offers to return territory gained in the 1948 war. Arab Response: Arabs refuse and illegally occupy the remaining land UN had envisioned as a Palestinian state. Jordan takes West Bank and Egypt the Gaza. In 1951, King Abdullah of Jordan and Palestine is assassinated for seeking peace. Second attempt: After the Six Day war in 1967, Israel offers to return the West Bank and Gaza for peace. Arab Response: At Khartoum conference summer of 1967, Arafat convinces Arab dictators to unanimously reject Israel’s offer. Third attempt: In July 1970, Egypt and Jordan accepted U.S. Secretary of State William Rogers’ plan for Israel’s withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza in exchange for peace and recognition. Arab Response: The Roger’s plan was denounced by Arafat and he organized riots to prevent a political solution. Fourth attempt: Between 1978-1982 the Camp David Accords demonstrate that land for peace is a reality. Treaty is signed and Egypt gets a phased Sinai withdrawal, removal of settlements, and the oil fields which Israel developed. Israel got a peace treaty. Arab Response: Arafat rejects invitation and escalates terrorism. Egyptian president Anwar Sadat is assassinated by Islamic extremists. Fifth attempt: Saudi Arabia at the Arab Summit Conference in Fez in 1981 calls for a declaration of a Palestinian state. Arab Response: Rejected because it would mean a defacto recognition of Israel. Hamas begins the First Intifada in 1987. |
Sixth attempt: The talks in Madrid in 1991 brought together the United States, the USSR, Israeli delegates, leading Palestinian families, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan to get peace talks started and create an agenda. PLO excluded.
Arab Response: Arab leaders flew almost daily from Madrid to Tunis to receive orders from Arafat who was in exile. He promised he could still destroy Israel. Seventh attempt: In 1993 the Oslo Accords allowed the Palestinian Arabs 98% of self-government, authority over social and economic concerns, an infusion of billions of dollars, and self-government in five years in exchange for an end to the incitement and terrorism. Arab Response: Palestinian Arab response was a continuation terrorism and the billions squandered. Eighth attempt: 1994 Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty stated that 90% of Israeli administered land returned for peace. Jordan relinquished any claim of sovereignty in the West Bank. Ninth attempt: At the 2000 Camp David II and Taba 2001 negotiations, the Barak government offered Palestinians 97% of the West Bank and Gaza with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. Arab Response: The Second Intifada was unleashed by Arafat. It had been planned since Arafat returned from Camp David negotiations. It had nothing to do with Sharon’s visit to the Temple Mount. Tenth attempt: 2002 Phased Road Map to Peace is supported by United States, United Nations, European Union, and Russia. They agree on a two state solution where violence and terrorism would be eliminated. Arab Response: Terrorist groups rejected the Road Map and both Arafat and Abbas declared their commitment to continuing terror activities against Israel. Eleventh attempt: Unilateral withdrawal from Gaza to “jump-start the peace process.” Millions in high-tech infrastructure was left behind for Palestinian use in economic development. Arab Response: Infrastructure destroyed. Hamas declares terror had won the concession, so terror would continue. Hezbollah attacks in north. Rockets fall on Israel in north and south. Twelfth attempt: ? The Obama Attempt Mr. President, please take seriously the reality of this situation. Israel exists because it has forcefully repelled the terrorists and enemy armies despite the condemnation of a biased world. The do what they do to survive. Most nations have aligned themselves against Israel for Arab oil, or because of a centuries’ old systemic Jew hatred, or a combination of both. Hamas, Fatah, Hezboula, and any other Jihadist organization cannot be trusted to be a partner for peace. Ten years ago the National Catholic Reporter quoted an Iman as saying, “Thanks to your democratic laws, we will invade you. Thanks to our religious laws, we will dominate you.” These organizations use democratic principals to subvert democracy. We saw what Hamas did to those who opposed them after they were “democratically” elected. Make some demands on Fatah and Hamas such as changing their charter and acknowledging the right of Israel to exist. Make that a condition of your support. Demand that the Red Cross be allowed to visit Gilad Shalit in prison. Even Iran let mothers into see their children. See if the Arab world will pressure the Palestinian Arabs for those two concessions before you insist that Israel sues for peace with groups who want only her destruction. |
Jimmy Carter, the Arabist and the Koranic Teachings Towards Jews and Christians
Former President Jimmy Carter told a group of Israeli and Palestinian peace activists, “And I don’t think it [peace] will be possible without the involvement of Hamas.” Either this man has no concept or understanding of the true essence or objectives of groups such as Hamas, Hezbolhah, Islamic Jihid, or Fatah, or he does understand their overt objective to destroy Israel and is a willing participant pretending to be a peace maker. Either he is really stupid or else he is extending his had to these murderers because he has been paid to give these organizations legitimacy. Mr. Carter accepts millions of dollars each year in donations to the Carter Peace Center from Arabs, especially the Saudis, and I believe he has become the willing servant and spokesperson for the Arab world and the Palestinian cause because he has been bought. In doing so, he turns a blind eye and discounts the religious convictions and the fundamentalist religious take on Islam that compels these terrorist groups.
So here is a little bit of religious history so you will understand what is going on and why Islamic terrorists groups will never recognize Israel or sue for peace. The Pact of Umar, attributed to Muhammad’s second successor about 720 created the concept of the dhimmis which states that where Jews and Christians are concerned, Islam dominates and is not dominated, and that Jews and Christians are always to be in a position of degradation and subservience. This concept is based on the Koranic text where Muhammad urges Muslims to, “Fight against such of those who have bee given the Scripture...and follow not the religion of truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low: (Sura 9:29). Also, “And humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah.” (Sura 2:61). Therefore, thinking that any fundamentalist terrorist will sue for peace is futile, because fundamentalist view every word in their holy book as the actual word of the God. To allow Israel to exist as a dominant force in what Arabs perceive as Muslim territory, is to accept the possibility that these Koranic teachings may be in error. Since that is an impossible concept for them, they must act as an implacable enemy and work to destroy Israel so their holy writings might be vindicated. Israel’s very existence refutes the mandate in the Koran for Jews to be continually degraded and subservient to Muslims. (Sura 2:61) |
Anwar as-Sadat, restated the same quote in 1972 before his army officers. “They must once again return to the condition decreed in our holy book: ‘humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them...” We will not renounce this.” The peace treaty he signed is a cold peace, and if the Muslim Brotherhood ever takes over the Egyptian government, that treaty will be made null and void because the Brotherhood is also fundamentalist organization. No peace treaty will keep the Brotherhood from attacking Israel again.
There are only four ways Islam accepts other nations living in their midst: convert, die, become a “dhmmis,” or, if they are defeat in battle as they have been by Israel in four wars, then continue under the guise of peace until Islam has regrouped, rearmed, and can wage war against you again. . . It is futile to hope for a lasting peace in the Middle East. It will not happen as long there are Islamic fundamentalists in a confrontational position using their perceived, eternal truths of their religion as their justification for waging war. While there is much truth and beauty in the spiritual aspects of the Islamic faith, it also seems that the morality, peace, and love it offers are only offered to those who adhere to that faith. In fact, any religion whose morality is extended to only those who adhere to their particular faith, has missed the point of what it means to be civilized and will tolerate evil in the name of that religion. The Birth of the PLO
The PLO was conceived at a time when the KGB was creating “liberation front” organizations throughout the Third World. Others included the National Liberation Army of Bolivia, created in 1964 with help from Ernesto “Che” Guevara, and the National Liberation Army of Colombia, created in 1965 with help from Fidel Castro. But the PLO was the KGB’s most enduring achievement.
Explained by Ion Mihai Pacepa, one time director of Romanian espionage service to Red Horizons, 1987. The following are the steps the creation of the PLO took: 1. 1964– Palestinian National Charter drafted in Moscow under KGB. 2. Romanian intelligence service responsible for PLO’s logistical support. 3. Bucharest supplies PLO with uniforms and stationary free of charge. 4. Twice a week, cargo plans from Romania land in Beirut with “gifts.” 5. KGB and East German Stasi supply arms . 6. KGB train Palestinian terrorists and use them to train other terrorists by the thousands. 7. Palestinian terrorists also train in Cuba. The Soviets back Arafat as the unchallenged leader of the Arab terrorist war against Israel, and with Russian covert support and overt Egyptian and Syrian backing, Arafat moves large numbers of his troops into southern Lebanon. 8. Arafat stayed on top with the help of the USSR because of his skill at organizing and motivating his terrorist followers. The Soviet Union’s Cold War agenda called for someone who was able to help them expand their terror into the Third World and the Muslim World. 9. By 1973, Arafat was a Soviet puppet. His adjutants, including Mahmoud Abbas , were being trained by the KGB in guerrilla warfare, espionage, and demolition. Abbas also graduated Patrice Lamumba University in Moscow. His PhD. thesis partially dealt with Holocaust revisionism. 10. Arafat is impressed with Ho Chi Minh’s success in mobilizing left-wing sympathizers in Europe and the United States, especially on American campuses. Ho’s chief strategist, General Giap made it clear to Arafat that they needed to redefine the terms of the struggle. The PLO needed to work in a way that concealed it’s real goals, permitted strategic deception, and gave the appearance of moderation. |
“Stop talking about annihilating Israel and instead turn your terror war into a struggle for human rights. Then you will have the American people eating out of your hand.” General Giap
“Wipe out the argument that Israel is a small state whose existence is threatened by the Arab states, or the reduction of the Palestinian problem to a question of refugees; instead, present the Palestinian struggle as a struggle for liberation like the others. Wipe out the impression...that in the struggle between the Palestinians and the Zionists, the Zionist is the underdog. Now it is the Arab who is oppressed and victimized in his existence because he is not only facing the the Zionists but also world imperialism.” Muhammad Yazid, minister of information, Algeria. 11. Nicolai Ceausescu, president for life of Romania,. hosted Arafat and taught him how to apply the advice of Giap and Yazid. While Arafat continued to want only the destruction of Israel, Machiavellian statecraft sank in and Arafat developed an image of a homeless people oppressed by a colonial power. 12. But the Soviets did not fully trust his dependability, so they secretly taped Arafat’s almost nightly homosexual interactions with his bodyguards and with the unfortunate preteen orphan boys whom Ceausescu provided for him as part of “Romanian hospitality.” With videotapes of Arafat’s voracious pedophilia in the vault, and knowing Islam’s attitude towards homosexuality, the KGB knew Arafat would continue to be an asset. 13. Creating Palestine “The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is not difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.” Zahir Muhse’in, Member of PLO exec committee to Amsterdam based newspaper Trouw in 1977. 14. “The Palestinian people have no national identity. I, Yasir Arafat, man of destiny, will give them that identity through conflict with Israel.” Yasir Arafat’s authorized biography “The PLO’s aim was not to impose our will on [Israel], but to destroy it in order to take its place... not to subjugate the enemy but to destroy him.” |
Jijid, the Extreme Left, and the Nazis
On October 28, 2005, President George W. Bush declared Islamic fascism to be the greatest threat to the United States of America and to Western Civilization. The extreme Left in America and in Europe went crazy because they perceived this statement as politically incorrect, an affront to all struggling democratic grass roots efforts of all the downtrodden in the world, and especially an affront to the Muslim faith. The extreme Left was unhappy despite the statement’s underlying truth, and everyone from the Left to the Center discounted the warning because it was made by George W. Bush, and his veritas by that time was non existent..
The truth is that there is such a movement as Islamic fascism, and it is imposed through jihad. Jihad is a radical, expansionist, totalitarian ideology that seeks to subjugate unbelievers and dominate the world in the name of Islam. To advance this effort, Jihadists use the democratic freedoms of Europe and the U.S. by agitating for special rights as aggrieved minorities. If Jihadist were to succeed, the religious, political, and social system put in place would be an exact replica of the political and social system put in place by the Nazi fascists. The Taliban did this in Afghanistan. Yet the extreme Left denies the reality, and continues to support this subterfuge because Jihadists are viewed as people fighting for the liberation of their people from the Colonial Capitalist. Anyone perceived as an underdog has to be supported and their ultimate goals are not important. Can’t wait to see Gerofolo in a head scarf and forbidden to appear in public without a man..
This movement began when Sheikh Hassan al-Banna created the Muslim Brotherhood in 1929 as a response to Turkey becoming secular and abolishing the Caliphate –that institution that held the idea that all non-Muslims were to be subordinate to Islam. The Brotherhood entered a political and military relationship with the Nazis, and al-Banna became a spy for Germany against Egypt and the British. The most active Nazi sympathizer in the Brotherhood was Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who was responsible for transplanting Nazi genocidal ideas to postwar Middle East and creating a fascist heritage for the Palestinian national movement. The Mufti was involved in organizing the 199 riots and one of them that destroyed the Jewish community of Hebron. He organized the “Great Arab Revolt” of 19360– 1939. He was put on the Nazi payroll in 1937 by Adolf Eichmann. The Mufti had even drawn up plans for a death camp out side of Hebron. After the war he joined al-Banna in urging the Arab nations to fight the partition of Palestine and the creation of Israel. After meeting with Hitler on November 21, 1941, al Husseini praised the Nazis because they “know how to get rid of the Jews, and that brings us close to the Germans and sets us in their camp.” On March 1, 1944, the Mufti called out in a broadcast from Zeesen: “Arabs! Rise as one and fight for your sacred rights. Kill the Jews wherever you find them. Kill them with your teeth if need be. This pleases God, history, and religion. This saves your honor.”
Yassir Arafat referred to him as “our hero.”
Another quote from the Muslim Brotherhood if you are not already convinced just how dangerous they are:
"...a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.

Danish Cartoon Fiasco
The most recent insanity we're dealing with now references the cartoon fiasco in Denmark. It pulls me back to the horror of the murder of the cartoonist in Amsterdam because he also depicted the Prophet.
Certainly, there is no reason why a Danish newspaper should have gone out of its way to offend the Islamic world by portraying Muhammad as they did. They were asked not to and chose to offend in the name of free speech. Certainly, the had a right to do this,
I was offended for Christians when years ago, there was an art exhibit depicting a crucifix in a beaker of urine entitled, “Pissed Christ,” and a painting of the Madonna with dung dotting the canvas. These are deeply offensive images and I do believe the world would be a safer and better place if artists and writers were more sensitive to the sensibilities of others. It’s basic human respect for the things people hold dear. That said, I find it outrageous that people would burn down buildings and call for the deaths of those who offend. The people who do such things are not living in the 21st century and are not civilized. Such behavior reinforces the very real fact that those groups, in this case, Muslims, most vocal about demanding tolerance and sensitivity from others, are themselves the most intolerant people on earth. In the West, we have a kind of relaxed view towards religious icons and how they are portrayed. Some Christian people marched outside the theaters in protest of “The Last Temptation of Christ” because some thought it offensive, and some Jewish people loudly protested the Mel Gibson movie fearing an anti-Semetic backlash. But not one rock was hurled by Christian or Jew and not one Molotov cocktail was thrown. Protest your offense, yes, but burning and ordering the deaths of others is beyond the scope of human decency.
And that is the problem with our insistence on bring democratic ideas to a people who are still in the Middle Ages when it comes to personal liberty and freedom of thought. We cannot impose these things. These things have to evolve from within. True, we must defend ourselves when attacked with all means at our disposal, but we are on a fools errand to believe that we can impose our way of life and our way of thinking on others. They just don’t get it, and probably will not for centuries. Freedom of expression means the freedom to offend and the freedom to be offended and the freedom to respond non violently. The ability to satirize and open a discussion rather than stifle ideas is what enables people to let off steam. Those who are not permitted open and free debate, take to the streets and burn down embassies and kill.
As far as I am concerned, getting involved in Mid-Eastern politics will continue to bite us in the ass. We pushed for democratic elections in the Palestinian entity and what the people in the disputed territories gave us is a democratically elected government dominated by a terrorist group. Hamas’ papers of incorporation calls for the complete eradication of Israel and they have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians. But they were elected democratically, and that’s what we pushed for. Now we have it and what shall we do with it?
The apologists tell us that Hamas won because of the Palestinian’s dissatisfaction with the Palestinian Authority, corruption, and garbage collection. But the reality is that these people also voted for a group who vows to destroy Israel, who sends suicide bombers into restaurants, and who murders school children on buses. That is the reality, and it reveals the truth that a real peace is a fantasy with a people who have been deliberately taught to hate Jews. It is impossible to live side by side. Sharon was right to unilaterally disengage and the new government must continue his policy and disengage form the West Bank all the while building that separation barrier that has cut down by 98% suicide bombings. Fatah, under Arafat and Abbas was no better than Hamas. They learned to lie and play the game, and the gullible European Union and the gullible United States of America has poured billions into the Swiss bank accounts of these thieves and murderers. If the U.S. and the E.U have any balls, they’ll put a stop to all contributions. Any money, even money for so called “humanitarian aid” frees money for Hamas to pay suicide bombers and buy rockets.
Certain things need to be seen in black and white. Moral relativists see in shades of grey. In this conflict, there is only one reality for me. Israel exists and must continue to exist. The Palestinians can have a country, but not where Israel is. The Palestinians have chosen an organization to lead them who are morally depraved and murderers. Hamas was elected democratically, so there are fingerprints. The people we select to lead us are a reflection of what the majority values. The majority elected GWB twice. He reflects the values of his constituency. There are consequences for Hamas’ election, and I hope my country has the moral rectitude to respond appropriately.
Manifest Destiny and the Middle East
Manifest Destiny is a concept that calls for political expansion. It is and was practiced by most powerful nations on this planet. You may believe it is wrong and that land taken must be returned, but what do you do with the people who have settled on that land if the original population wants them out? The bible tells us that the land of Palestine was given by G od to the Jewish people. But if you don’t believe that, no less than four legally ordained bodies have called for, supported, and created a homeland for the Jews in what was once a section of the Ottoman Empire called Palestine.
Fundamentalist Muslim Arabs believe that the land belongs to them, because according to their own concept of manifest destiny, all land that was ever Muslim is still Muslim and must ultimately be returned to Muslims. That means that parts of southern Europe must also be returned one day. This idea comes from the Islamic theological imperative which teaches that it is the duty of Muslims to establish a global Islamic state called the Calafite, that is ruled by Islamic law. The liberal immigration policies and the fundamental belief in "political correctness" as practiced in Europe, have allowed Muslims to begin the Islamification of Europe. A further issue regarding Israel’s existence as a Jewish independent homeland relates to the Koran which states that Jews and Christians must be kept in perpetual servitude, and the Pact of Umar, the Muslim legal code, which delineates what that servitude must be. Both these absolute theistic works are discredited by the fact that Jews are dominant and Israel exist. So the question remains: Are Israel’s borders the cause of the problems between the Jews and the Arabs, or is the problem for the Arabs ultimately that Israel exists on what the Arabs perceive as their land and Israel’s existence gives the lie to their holy book and legal code? It has been sixty years since the founding of Israel, yet Israel remains the only country in the world subjected to a constant outpouring of hate, libels, and demands that it be dismantled. This is because of the Arab manifest destiny concept, their religious law, and it may be because there is continued Jew hatred among western nations. Whatever it is, the question for us all to consider is this: At what point should land that is conquered or purchased become the land of the conquerors, and should this same principal apply to Jews or is there a separate standard when it comes to Jews? |
Settlements
I am a cynic, so any U. N. or equally bias U.N. agency calling for resolutions, studies, examinations, inspections etc. regarding Israel, I view with bemused disbelief. The so called “settlement” issue continues to be used by the Palestinian Arabs who claim that the building of “settlements” in Jerusalem and in the West Bank is the sole issue impeding peace talks. What hypocrisy! No one at the U.N. or in our own state department seems to remember or mentions that prior to 1967 and Israel’s take over of the disputed territories and the eastern part of Jerusalem, there were no “settlements,” and the Arab nations still refused to talk or to recognize the Jewish state. The truth is that prior to 1948, before the Jordanian Arabs over ran the eastern part of Jerusalem, “ethnically cleansed” it of its Jewish inhabitants by both murdering them and expelling them, Jerusalem was a united city with free access for all faiths to all holy sites. The Arabs methodically proceeded to eradicate the Jewish presence in the captured part of the city, by destroying the synagogues, using Jewish tombstones as paving blocks and in urinals, excluded Jews from the praying at the Western Wall, and confiscated Jewish homes without compensation. When the Jews took back what was originally theirs in 1967 and rightfully resettled in areas that were originally theirs, the Arab nations and their supporters threw up their hands in horror, and continue to spew condemnations. The exact same thing happened in the so called, “occupied territories of the West Bank.” Prior to 1948, these territories were to be ceded to Israel but were annexed by Jordan when Israel was attacked and made Jew free. No one in the U.N. objected. When these areas were recaptured in 1967, like Jerusalem, Jews returned to the land that was taken from them and rebuilt Jewish homes where they had once been. Objections to Israel taking back what was rightfully hers are made daily at the U.N. because remembering what really happened does not meet the Arab agenda which has always and will always be the eradication of the Jewish state. Illegal settlements? Nonsense am a cynic, so any U.
