Mr. Secretary-General,
In your calling on Israel to end its blockade of the Gaza, you neglected to finish your sentence. But had you done so, I’m sure it would have been...“so the Arab Palestinians could continue to smuggle in larger armaments so as to better murder Jewish civilians.”
Regarding Israel, the U.N.’s history is shameful, and while you may call upon Israel to stop the blockade, no where was it reported that you demanded that Hamas in Gaza stop the recent shelling that murdered a foreign national working there. Nor did you call upon the Arab Palestinians to rescind that part of their charter that calls for the destruction of a member state, and never have you questioned the reality that each time Israel negotiates a peace deal, it is the Arab Palestinians who reject it and take up arms. So by saying that the “United Nations will stand with you,” that means that the United Nations will continue to stand against Israel. And that is exactly why peace cannot be reached. Had the United Nations not shown such overt hatred and bias towards Israel, recognized all the opportunities that the Arab Palestinians rejected and called them on it, and called upon the Arab nations to recognized a legitimate member’s right to exist, the Middle East would not continue in this turmoil. The causes of many of the problems between the Israelis and the Arab Palestinians lay at the feet of the leadership of the United Nations by exhibiting over the past sixty years cowardice, bias, and unrighteousness.
Currently, Israel is being condemned for building in East Jerusalem. If you recall, in 1948, that parcel of the city was also to be part of the new state, but it was overrun and annexed by Jordan, Jews were murdered and expelled, and the synagogues and houses of study destroyed. Where were the voices raised against this in the U.N? Show me one resolution condemning Jordan for their actions. Israel has a right to build anywhere in Jerusalem because it was, is, and will continue to be the capital. And may I remind you that Israel, in a past negotiation, even agreed to allow the Arab Palestinians to claim that part of the city as their capital, but Arafat, not wanting to be remembered in Arab history as the man who “capitulated” to Israel, began the Second Intafada. And if you think Abbas won’t do the same and start a Third Intafada, you are mistaken.
You know as well as I that Israel is dealing with an implacable enemy whose sole desire is to destroy the Jewish state and drive the Jews into the sea. This objective is still written in Palestinian official documents. This is their stated objective and not hyperbole. Why do you continue to discount the overt or covert radical Muslim or Arab Palestinian objectives yet continue to condemn and make demands on the Israelis? My only answer is that in your U.N., there is one standard and expectation for Israel and different standards and expectations for the rest of the world. What a shabby organization you lead.
Cordially,
